“In the case of good books, the point is not to see how many of them you can get through, but rather how many of them can get through to you. – Mortimer Alter

After a lifetime of seeking solace and joy in the pages of books, here’s what I know to be true:

  • Books can change your life for the better. School can prepare us for adulthood, but books inspire us to strive to be good human beings, no matter where we are in life.
  • Books offer understanding, compassion, and comfort. No need to reinvent the wheel – someone before me has been where I am and wrote a book about it. The first time I burst into tears from a broken heart was while reading “Are You There God, It’s Me, Margaret”. Judy Bloom, the Aunt I never actually had, knew what young girls would need in life but didn’t know how to ask.
  • Books open the door to knowledge and help us grow – but only if we know how to take action and implement the wisdom.

In these pages I will share my hopes and practices,  lessons learned, and tried and tested strategies to help you live a wiser, kinder, and stronger life.

I believe in the power of hope: that anyone can become the kind of person they want to be no matter what place of uncertainty they are starting from. I’ve used the nourishment found in books to do just this and I help you do the same.
